This week we celebrate Bathurst in all its glory and welcome the tens of thousands of visitors that call Bathurst home for the next week.
It’s a significant year for the great race with the commemoration of Peter Brock’s life and 10th anniversary of his tragic death, with events planned to remember one of Bathurst’s greatest racing legends.
One of these exciting tributes is Screen Australia’s debut of ‘Peter Brock’ this Sunday on Channel Ten.
This is one of 23 film productions that have benefitted from $64 million in NSW Government funding, and the creation of around 4,000 jobs throughout production. The mini-series focuses heavily on Bathurst and the history of the Bathurst 1000 and I can’t wait to tune in!
Beginning Wednesday with the famous drivers parade, the week is jam packed with events and entertainment for all the family.
This is an event that not only entertains people all over the world, but has fantastic economic benefits for locals with last year’s four day attendance figures totaling 201,416.
Congratulations to Bathurst Regional Council for their outstanding effort in preparing the town and the track for this year’s event, I hope to see you all trackside!
