The cultured vibe at Webb & Co bar was treated to a mesmerising performance last Friday night from soulful Cowra musician Lusi Austin, whose set featured some fantastic covers with distinctly unique flavours.

Recently returned from Fiji, Austin showed off her natural penchant for performing with an atmospheric stage presence and an impressive vocal range that drew favourable comparisons to Alicia Keys and TLC.

Her choice of songs fit the ambience of Webb & Co, ranging from slow soul ballads to more upbeat, jovial songs; truly something for everyone in attendance.

Austin’s vocals were similarly outstanding, with her clear and confident voice dazzling the crowd, and she has one of those voices you could sit there and get lost in while you ponder life, the universe and everything.

But the real beauty in Austin’s covers is her unique ability to make songs her own, and it added a superlative amount of personality to Austin’s performance.

Austin has performed regular gigs in the Cowra area, both as a solo artist and in her acoustic duo ‘Sim and Lus,’ and it was fantastic to see her dazzle a Bathurst crowd with that soulful atmosphere that has seen her emerge as a significant talent in Cowra.

All in all, Lusi Austin is exceptionally gifted as a musician, and is a must see for those who love their favourite songs explored in a different light.
