In case you didn’t know, Bathurst has it’s own pre-school age live theatre entertainment every Wednesday during school term at 11am at the CWA Hall in Russell Street.
The half hour show includes songs, stories and plays specifically designed for 2 to 6 year olds with the content changing each week.
Fun Theatre for the Very Young has been running all this year with families making it an important part of their weekly activities.
Nez and Kaz are two local performers who delight in entertaining such a young audience and providing opportunities for the children to join them on stage during the show if they want to.
Children can shake a shaker in the Fun Band and become participants in some of the acted out stories.
Kathy Cameron has over 30 years experience of working with children in the field of drama and she says she will never tire of playing in the fantasy world of children.
As well as the weekly show, Fun Theatre has been touring to local pre-schools.
Term 3 will be the last term for 2016 for the Wednesday shows but Nez and Kaz will continue taking the show to pre-schools during term 4.
This project has been supported by Local Stages and CSU and Bathurst Theatre Company is applying for funding from the Country Arts Support Program to continue providing this fun theatre experience for pre-schoolers throughout 2017.
The cost is $5 per child with adults and babies free.
